In 2021, the engineering division of SNCF Voyageurs selected ANVIS as a partner to tackle a major challenge:
Developing an innovative hydro-elastic axle-guidance joint
This new articulation integrates a hydraulic device designed to:
-Reduce wheel flange wear thanks to improved curve negotiation, increasing wheel lifespan (fewer re‑profilings, fewer removals)
-Improve trainset availability
-Reduce maintenance costs
Outstanding results after 370,000 km of testing
After 370,000 km, the equivalent of 9 times around the Earth in just 30 months, the results are clear:
-Less 19% average wheel wear on wheels equipped with the ANVIS articulation
-An excellent overall condition of the articulations
A new phase begins
Building on this success, ANVIS and SNCF are launching a new round of tests to go even further.
